Peter Shearer Menswear Launches Winter Jacket Appeal

For over 50 years, Peter Shearer Menswear has been providing quality menswear with exceptional staff knowledge and customer service.  Now, they are launching their first Winter Jacket Appeal to help some of the thousands of South Australians experiencing homelessness and sleeping rough.

From 1 May – 31 July, Peter Shearer Menswear will be collecting used winter jackets throughout their three stores, including their store at the Rundle Mall entrance here at Regent Arcade.  Donated jackets will be professionally cleaned and sent to the Hutt St Centre where they will be distributed to provide some extra warmth during the cooler months.

Dharmesh Raman, Director of Peter Shearer Menswear says, “We struggle to understand the complexity of people experiencing homelessness, yet we hope that our small contribution can relieve the discomfort of South Australians having to go through this experience.”

Ian Cox, Chief Executive Officer of Hutt St Centre says, “We love the idea and concept of donating a jacket to homeless people through Peter Shearer Menswear to help keep out the cold and to hopefully warm the many generous South Australian hearts. This idea provides a unique gift in the colder months of the year and we love being associated with companies like Peter Shearer Menswear who are always striving to meet the needs of the most vulnerable.”

Peter Shearer Menswear are hoping to collect 500 coats this winter.  So, when you are out shopping for a new coat, donate your old one to the Winter Jacket Appeal and help out those in need.
